Building a healthier tomorrow! DEH conducted a 5-day training on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) in Galkacyo, strengthening our team’s capacity to support optimal child nutrition and well-being.

At Development for Education and Health (DEH), we believe that investing in child nutrition is one of the most powerful ways to build resilient and thriving communities. With this vision in mind, DEH recently conducted a comprehensive 5-day training on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) in Galkacyo.

The training brought together dedicated health workers and program staff, equipping them with essential knowledge and practical skills to promote optimal feeding practices for infants and young children. Participants engaged in interactive sessions covering key topics such as early initiation of breastfeeding, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months, appropriate complementary feeding, and the importance of maternal nutrition.

Through group discussions, case studies, and hands-on learning activities, the training emphasized real-world application, enabling participants to better support caregivers and families in their communities. The sessions also highlighted culturally appropriate approaches to addressing common challenges related to child feeding practices.
